Fresh food!
Jul. 25th, 2009 01:24 pmI made it to the local Farmer's Market for the first time in probably 1.5 - 2 years today. Our Farmer's Market is actually downtown (it's a parking lot the rest of the week), so it's easier to walk to than drive. It takes about a half-hour each way, most of which is fairly pretty.
Anyway, I spent $16 to buy:
1 large garlic-cheddar roll
2 ears of corn
3 zucchini
4 basil plants (in one tray; one of them is really tiny, though)
5 oz. jar of cherry jam
6 peaches
and however many blueberries are in one pint.
Which makes me happy. I don't know whether to make some zucchini-squash-basil pasta (I already have the squash) or find that savory chicken and peach recipe I saw a few days ago.
