Great Cinema

A friend and I watched Shark Attack 3: Megalodon last night, of course starring the always-entertaining John Barrowman. It was flipping *hilarious* - really, I can't recommend this movie strongly enough. Not that it's *good*, mind you; it was every bit as awful as I'd heard. But seriously, watch it. If only for the jet ski scene.

Ooh. One of those movies that's so bad it's hilariously funny? I'm in!!

Jet ski scene? Our man in a wetsuit? :)

Oh, yeah. Not so much the early parts (though they're amusing in their way) but the late parts, you bet. To quote my brother, those effects weren't very special.

He wasn't *on* the jet ski (see below) but he is in a wetsuit for a big chunk of the movie. ;-)

I need no further motivation to watch that movie.

Wetsuit = win.

Oooh, I've been meaning to for ages. And is the jet ski scene that scene, where he improvised his lines? (Yes I read about it!)

No, that's a different scene (which, it occurred to me in retrospect, was probably much more hilariously bad if you weren't totally expecting it - especially since, before that point, there was really no hint of a relationship between the two characters). JB wasn't actually in the jet ski scene; that one was all about the bad guy. Let's just say that when you make a movie in 2002, use high-quality special effects from about 1965, add in really atrocious acting, and force it all into a really predictable plot point, the results are deeply entertaining. :-)
