Probably inevitably, the arrival of the last HP movie, combined with that great Time article on fanfic, seems to be kicking me back into HP fandom, at least within my own head. Problem is, though HP was my primary fandom for a long, long time, it was also a long time ago. So all the archives/authors I've followed have either shut down or moved on, or I've forgotten what/who they were. The ones I can remember are the ones that pretty well took everything, and therefore contain mostly lousy fic with the occasional gem (like ff.n or fiction alley).

I suspect most people on my friends-list would be in the same boat, but I know there's at least one or two of you still active in the HP fandom, right? So, can anyone point me to active rec lists, or active selective communities, where I can find fic written post-DH (or at least post-HBP)? It doesn't need to be *set* post-series, and it can mess around with canon (especially, for instance, if a certain Potions Master survived after all), but I'd like to have that influence of the later canon.

Good recs to any current (or recent) comms and authors would work, but if you know a lot and want to narrow it down, I tend to be most interested in Snape, Harry, and the relationship (of any sort) between the two. Other favorite characters are Neville, McGonagall, Remus, Percy, and Luna. I'm more interested in adults than teenagers, and the only way I really care about the next generation is if the stories are really about their parents (with an exception for Al Potter as a Slytherin).

Friendly's Reeses Peanut Butter Cup sundaes ... with mint chocolate chip ice cream.

Mmmm. So good.

If you have the misfortune of being unfamiliar with Friendly's, their PBC sundae is pretty much what it sounds like. Three scoops of ice cream (vanilla is the default) with hot fudge, their ultra-yummy peanut butter fudge sauce, whipped cream, a cherry, and a peanut butter cup.

When I was about eight, I decided that sounded perfect, so I ordered it and specified my favorite ice cream, mint chocolate chip, at which point the rest of my family looked at me in horror. I think it hadn't occurred to me to consider the combination of flavors, but I'd already ordered it, so I was determined that it was exactly what I wanted. And happily, it turned out to be absolutely brilliant. Probably every single time I've been to Friendly's since (not that often; the local ones all closed in the mid-late 90s), I've gotten the same thing. And it's still delicious.

I graduated yesterday. :-)

Just thought I'd mention that.

This does not make me less nervous about the whole "rest of my life" thing. Nor does the realization of just how much I have to do this summer.

In order to finish part of an assignment for class, I just Googled the phrase, "Suri Cruise spitting image." No, really.

Then, of course, I selected the most reputable-looking source on the first page. Which turned out to be the Daily Mail.

I love it when my DVD player decides the best possible point to freeze and refuse to play a given disk is right at one of the movie's big climactic points. That I can't find on You Tube. It's great, really.

Today I managed to get free - to me - lunch (beef dip and fries), ice cream (Yellow Brick Road from Ben & Jerry's), and dinner (spinach/artichoke dip, pecan-encrusted chicken, mashed potatoes, veggies, and key lime pie). Plus, I finally bought the Doctor Who Series 2 DVDs, paid for with a coupon, old gift cards, and birthday money from Mommy and Daddy. Also, I "worked" for 8.5 hours, the bulk of which was spent either not actually there or watching (other) DVDs while the computer scanned things. Yay!!!

The only downside was that I had to go to a 2nd Borders to get the DVDs, so I was running late for dinner, then I got stuck in three separate patches of construction traffic. But I got there, which is what matters.

I have a major paper due this Thursday, a shorter-but-still-major paper due next Saturday (turned in online), and this Thursday I'm taking a major test that will, by itself, determine whether or not I have to take psychology this fall. Plus, I have roughly a month's worth of housework to do, plus a bunch of other stuff.

And really? I just want to sit and read fanfic. Or daydream. Possibly watch TV. It's nearly 6 PM, and so far today I've done some brainstorming and little else.

This is bad.

I made it to the local Farmer's Market for the first time in probably 1.5 - 2 years today. Our Farmer's Market is actually downtown (it's a parking lot the rest of the week), so it's easier to walk to than drive. It takes about a half-hour each way, most of which is fairly pretty.

Anyway, I spent $16 to buy:
1 large garlic-cheddar roll
2 ears of corn
3 zucchini
4 basil plants (in one tray; one of them is really tiny, though)
5 oz. jar of cherry jam
6 peaches
and however many blueberries are in one pint.

Which makes me happy. I don't know whether to make some zucchini-squash-basil pasta (I already have the squash) or find that savory chicken and peach recipe I saw a few days ago.

Two weeks until Torchwood is shown on BBC America. I plan to wait and watch it then, rather than trying to see it on You Tube or via the uploads that I'm sure are already available (but both of which are a total pain and much lower quality than even my shoddy TV). I also hope to remain spoiler-free in the meantime. We'll see how well I can hold out, on both counts. Wish me luck!!

My hair is nearly a foot shorter than it was this morning. I can't seem to stop playing with it.
